Three Compasses

At one time the Three Compasses was known as the Carpenters. By 1822 it was the Three Compasses and on ceasing trade as an inn eventually became Rosemount, a private house.

Philip Cave - although the Trade Directories list Philip as landlord in 1844, by 1841 he was living in Long Newnton, WIL. Henry Sealy is listed on the census as a publican on Fox Hill.

Two maps, the left c1838 and the right from the 1890s. The Three Compasses Inn is marked on the lower as PH, and the unusual shape of the buildings makes it easy to locate on the older map.
