I began my own family research 25 years ago well before the internet age! Unable to travel far with a young family and a stint living overseas it was a triumph gaining one piece of information such as a certificate or census printout once every six months - how those documents were poured over and inspected for weeks to follow.

My career has been spent working in reference and local study libraries, and laterly researching Tetbury, hence this website. The Tetbury research was begun and developed when my husbands family tree couldn’t be traced any further back, so to fill my hours I started collating data from the census onto a huge database which now stands at just under 25,000 individuals for the period 1780-1911.

I am currently studying with the IHGS for the Certificate of Genealogy, Higher Certificate and hopefully eventually the Diploma.

Research packages:

Reseach package

All research for a fee to cover all expenses and costs incurred at a rate of £15 per hour. Areas initially covered are Tetbury and neighbourhoods within Gloucestershire. This does not include the cost of GRO certificates since the price rise in April.

Decide how many hours work you would like to have done and that is what I will do, using aprropriate resources at Gloucestershire Archives and other sources.

1,2 or 3 hours research requested
 

Advice package

A tuition based package, I advise you how to go about doing your own research,   the places to go to use records, and suitable trustworthy websites. You do the work, using me as consultant at every stage of your family history journey. 

£15 per ‘stage’, starting with personal family documents, moving onto civil registration, census, parish registers and back into the mists of time!!

 

Internet package

I do internet based research, no visits to archives, purely the information I can gather from websites. Great if you don’t have access to the pay-per-view websites, or don’t want to take them up. A large amount of data can be gathered together in this way.

£8 per hour.
