William Ives branched out from motor engineering into coaching in the 1920s. In 1925 he bought a new Overland fourteen seater. He adopted the name Ivory Coaches and operated services to Cirencester and Bristol. In November 1933 he bought a Guy Conquest that seated 32. In the pre war years he had ten different vehicles in his fleet.
