Cutwell

Cutwell Farm was being farmed by William Hayes in 1851. He was farming 100 acres and employing one man. He died in 1857 and son in law Nathaniel Witcombe Tyler took over. He was a saddler and married to Louisa Hayes.

In 1861 Nathaniel was listed as farming 50 acres and employing two men.

Charles Grant [b.1815] was listed as a farmer of Cutwell, farming 12 acres in 1871, and 8 acres in 1881. Trade directories of the period list him as the farmer of Cutwell from 1874-76 and again 1885-1889. However, a directory lists Henry Ford in 1879. and the 1881 census lists him as farmer of 46 acres.
